Glendale PTC Meeting Notes

Attendees: Jenny Gatti, Angie Patzman, Angie Carrigan, Shannon Davis, Andrea Fisher, Melissa Kiefer, Lori Parker, Angie Caputo, Frank Boyles & Jenni Krosnowski

 

Prior Lake Music Fest Presentation:  Jenni Krosnowski and Frank Boyles

  • Volunteer websites will be activated on April 15.  We will need 15-18 people to volunteer on behalf of Glendale to fill the 50 hours that have been assigned to us.  Non-profits are given a donation of $20 per hour completed by each volunteer.  There will be 4-hour shifts with each volunteer getting 2 tickets for the Music Fest for free and a t-shirt.  The volunteer website is: http://musicfest.ivolunteer.com/ptcvols_003

  • Glendale will receive 50% of any ticket sales that go through the above website.

Glendale Newsletter Summary:

  • Earth Month – We are Gardeners!
  • Elementary Art Show and Book Fair
  • MCA testing
  • Options are narrowed down for the referendum – adding onto the high school and remodeling existing schools vs. splitting into 2 high schools, centralized early childhood vs. attending neighborhood schools
  • Open enrollment reopened with 75 slots for kindergarten and staff children

 

Treasurer’s Report: Angie Patzman

  • Current checking account balance: $14,332.93
  • Carnival expenses: $3,298.61
  • Carnival revenue: $12,062.28
  • Still have checks to deposit from silent auction items
  • Reimbursement checks still to be written for a few items
  • $4,445.33 for new chrome books +1 for Mrs. Streif
  • $537 for new kindergarten books
  • $500.13 for reading intervention books-student services
  • Total teacher allocations paid to date: $4,787.78

 

Box Tops/Labels for Education/Milk Moola:  Jennifer Gatti for Amy Morrill

  • Amy will make a Box Top submission the last week of May
  • Labels for Education is ending this summer so after school ends Amy will mail in remaining labels and redeem for Visa Gift Cards

 

Snack Cart: Stephanie Janasko (returning next year)

  • End of the year party for volunteers
  • Started with about $18,000 and have $8,100 left in the budget

 

School Store:  Jennifer Gatti for Amy Jones/Tammy Krings

  • YTD sales are $1322.96
  • $746.95 Invoices/expenses
  • $576.01 in profit to donate to ROCK plus $500 in start up $ from PTC for next year’s store
  • Rock student donation jar:  $122

  • Spring Conference Dinner for teachers is on Thursday, April 13
  • March Fundraising Sales total at Davanni’s was $937.03.  Glendale will receive a check for $187.41. Next Davanni’s Night will be on Monday, April 17 with Kindergarten Volunteering
  • The final event of the year will be the PTC End of the Year Party on Friday, June 2 from 6:15-8 PM

  • Carnival Recap:  We raised $15,481.50 at the PTC Carnival on April 1st! After expenses and fees, we will net $12,062.28.  
  • Teacher Appreciation Week update from Angie Caputo and Melissa Kiefer.
    • Kristi Masser met with Angie & Melissa
    • Theme will be: Wild about Glendale Teachers!
  • Open PTC Board positions for next year:  President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 1 Event Coordinator
  • Elections will take place at the next PTC meeting on Tuesday, May 9 at 6:30 PM in the Media Center
