Glendale PTC Meeting Notes

Prior Lake Music Fest Presentation:  Jenni Krosnowski and Frank Boyles

  • Will deliver the Admission and Raffle Tickets for the Prior Lake Music Fest – signed and accepted by PTC
  • The BIG kick-off event is tonight, Tuesday, March 7 at 7 PM at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.  The Kick-off Party will be hosted by Muss from K102 and the Shaw Brothers will be performing.  Admission is free; there will be food and a cash bar.

Teacher’s Report:  Mrs. Donohue

  • I Love to Read was successful!
  • Students are excited about the school store
  • Students are worried about Pennies for Patients – not in place for this year but options will be explored
  • Innovation Week is in progress
  • Conferences coming up in April as well as MAP/MCA testing

Principal’s Report:  Mr. Richardson

  • Survey in place regarding options for dealing with growth in the district – PLEASE respond
  • Continued promotion of the Carnival

Treasurer’s Report: Jenny Gatti for Angie Patzman

  • No new updates

Box Tops/Labels for Education/Milk Moola:  Amy Morrill

  • Box Top Promotion for February Update:  5,483 Box Tops were sent in which equates to $548.30
  • Will look at running more promotions next year
  • Amy will be returning next year

Snack Cart: Stephanie Janasko

  • Looked for additional item
  • Trying to promote healthier items and getting the kids to try new things
  • Over 400 students are participating in snack cart

School Store:  Amy Jones/Tammy Krings

  • The School Store opened on 2/17 and is open on Fridays during lunch/recess.  
  • The store has been open for 3 weeks and has made almost $750 in sales.
  • The students have collected approximately $65 in the donation jar for ROCK so far. All proceeds will be donated to ROCK and end of the year celebrations will be focused on service to ROCK.

  • I Love to Read night was a success! Around 160 students participated.
  • Next Davanni’s Night will be on Monday, March 20 with 1st grade volunteering
  • Carnival Food: 25 pizzas ordered and arriving on a schedule, waters available, Bruce Krings will assist with popcorn (need new supplies-bags, oil, popcorn), Andrea will start cotton candy at 9 am, hot dog supplies
  • Teacher conference dinner: Thursday, April 13

President/Vice-President:  Jenny Gatti and Angie Carrigan

  • 2nd Annual Glendale Carnival will be on Saturday, April 1 from 11 AM – 3 PM.  We will be sending out a Sign-up Genius for Snack Walk Donations and Volunteers for the Carnival later this week.
  • Teacher Appreciation Week:  Angie Caputo and Melissa Kiefer have volunteered to organize and plan Teacher Appreciation Week this year.
  • Open PTC Board positions for next year:  President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, Lead GlenMart

Saturday, April 1:  2nd Annual Glendale Carnival 11 AM – 3 PM

Tuesday, April 11:  PTC meeting in Media Center at Glendale 6:30 – 8 PM
